Over twelve days, we will travel together through Osaka, Mino, Kyoto and Mount Kurama, engaging in a deep spiritual and cultural immersion in the most authentic and traditional Japan.
The heart of the journey will be Mino, a small rural town where we will spend seven nights in a hotel, surrounded by history and silence. A place that allows you to travel back in time, walking through streets lined with Edo-period buildings, seemingly suspended in another era.
This exclusive Reiki Mastery course in Japan will take you to the heart of Japan’s spiritual heritage, far from conventional tourism and close to the essence from which Reiki Ryōhō was born.
We will begin our journey with one night in Osaka, where we will visit its iconic castle — a key site in the unification of Japan in the 16th century and one of the country’s most important castles. In the surrounding park, we will hold our first Reiki Mastery class, opening the journey in a place rich in history and spaciousness.
From Osaka, we will travel by private transport to Mino, the capital of traditional Japanese washi paper and an enclave of rural, spiritual and deeply rooted Japan. There, staying in a traditional ryokan, we will spend seven nights and hold daily three-hour Reiki Mastery classes in the mornings, in especially meaningful places such as the Oyada Shrine.
In Mino, we will visit sites of great historical and spiritual value, including Gujo Hachiman Castle and the Wada traditional houses, more than two hundred years old. We will also have the unique opportunity to visit —and practise in— a traditional washi paper workshop, producing Japan’s most renowned handmade paper.
Mino is a town that preserves the spirit of the 19th century, the era in which Usui Sensei was born. There, we will enjoy free time to walk, observe, understand and breathe in the Japanese spirituality that gave birth to Reiki.
From Mino, we will travel —also by private transport— to Kurama, near Kyoto, to experience a unique and unforgettable class in one of Japan’s most spiritually significant places: Mount Kurama, considered the birthplace of Reiki.
The journey will conclude with two nights in Kyoto, where we will visit the former imperial capital and temples such as Daitokuji Daisenin, the main temple of the Rinzai school of Zen Buddhism. There, we will hold the final Reiki Mastery class in Japan, closing the training cycle within an environment of deep spiritual tradition.
Throughout the entire experience, we will hold three-hour Reiki and meditation classes each morning, while afternoons will be dedicated to exploring the folklore, living culture and spiritual essence of the country that gave rise to Reiki and Zen.
