Voluntariado de Reiki en Barcelona | Kisetsu & ABD ONG
May 23, 2025

At Kisetsu, Reiki & Meditation School, we believe in the power of presence, silence, and kindness to transform lives. That’s why we’re pleased to share with you our Reiki Volunteering Program in Barcelona, in collaboration with ABD NGO, one of the most active social organizations in Catalonia.

What is the Kisetsu Reiki Volunteering Program?

This initiative offers free weekly Reiki sessions to elderly individuals living in supervised housing, with the intention of expanding the program in the future to include other vulnerable groups. Through this program, we bring the quiet strength of Reiki to those who need it most, within a respectful, structured, and supportive environment.

What is ABD NGO?

ABD (Association for Welfare and Development) is a non-profit organization that collaborates with the Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia, managing a wide network of social programs. It supports more than 100,000 people each year in areas such as:

Elder care

Mental health

Childhood and family services

Gender equality

Intellectual disabilities

Addictions and social exclusion

We are honored to collaborate with such a large and socially committed organization.

How can you participate in the Reiki volunteering program?

If you are a Reiki practitioner and would like to take part in this initiative, please contact us directly via WhatsApp (+34 692 046 404) or email (info@kisetsu.es). Once we receive your confirmation, we will add you to the exclusive WhatsApp group created to coordinate the volunteering efforts.

We are currently offering two weekly group sessions at Habitatges Glòries in Barcelona, covering one morning and one afternoon slot to accommodate different availabilities.

Requirements for Reiki volunteers

According to Spanish legislation and ABD’s internal policies, the following documentation is required:

1. Documentation
You must fill out and sign the official volunteer registration form, which we will send to you once you contact us.

It is also mandatory to provide a Negative Certificate of Sexual Offenses, which can be obtained online at the following link.

If you’re interested and willing to participate, please write to us at info@kisetsu.es

2. Commitment to Best Practices
All volunteers must commit to following the Kisetsu & ABD Reiki Volunteering Manual, which outlines the following:

Sessions must follow the established protocol: Reiki is offered seated, in silence, without improvisations or additional therapies

A respectful and non-intrusive attitude: no diagnoses, advice, or verbal interventions

Ethical boundaries: self-promotion or offering personal services is not allowed

Absolute confidentiality and discretion

Group-based practice: mutual support among volunteers is essential

Punctuality and consistency: responsibility is part of the offering

Offering Reiki as a volunteer is not only an act of generosity, but also of inner discipline.

“Your presence transforms. Your silence supports. Your commitment inspires.“
Jordi Ibern, Founder of Kisetsu, Reiki & Meditation School

Why is Reiki volunteering important?

Each session, each act of presence, each moment of shared silence plants a seed for a more human and compassionate world. By participating in this program, you become part of a network of support, healing, and transformation that reflects the deepest values of Reiki.

Join us in this beautiful initiative.
